I checked my whiteworms today and the entire slice of bread I put in 2 days ago is gone! I'm a little nervous to reach in there now. I guess they're doing good. Aric had a good idea on how to get the worms out of the coconut fiber. Put a chunk of fiber, worms and all in a small container with a cover ( i used a chineese food sweet and sour sauce container, popped a couple of small holes in the cover ), put the container on top of your light and wait 5 minutes. The worms crawl to the top of the container for easy removal. I got a neet little worm basket at Belmont Pet. Throw the worms in and they wiggle out the holes which pleases the fish immensly. The rainbow fish go crazy.

Where can I get coconut fiber? I've checked a couple garden stores, but all I found was Osmunda fiber in the orchid substrate section, and that's too coarse and quite expensive. I think I need to restart my white worm culture soon - I was just going to use potting soil.

Thanks,
Ryan

Petco, in the reptile department. About 5 bucks for a brick size IIRC (if I recall correctly).

Welcome to the Message Board.
