Has anything ever tried an in-line FW refugium for growing live food, similar to a plankton reactor for a SW system? I was thinking of setting up a small tank that overflows into my 75g to grow daphnia or something, but couldn't find any info on people trying this in FW.

There's this guy on youtube that used the PetSmart- Marina Hang On Breeder Box ... d=12419018

Here's the video. It's titled, "Fresh water HOB refugium evolution" incase if the URL ever changes

I've been thinking about doing something similar but with the larger box and trying out all sorts of live feeders like, daphnia, clam shrimp, black worms, fairy shrimp, gammarus (scuds), and even maybe triops?

If anyone has any of these could they give me some to start up a culture?
There's this guy on ebay with this for sale ... 1009758783
And this website for eggs
Could someone give me input on this idea? Like if I should try buying those packs? Or if anyone has some of them?

I'm also thinking of seeing if I could use a siphoning technique to circulate the water from my HOB filter to the HOB breeder/refugium. Mostly because I don't want to have to buy another air pump.
