I'm trying to recreate the BAP program.
I want to automate it so its less paper driven.
I was looking at a joomla, drupal, or other portal/form driven system - but haven't found one I like that would work with minimal coding (ie more gui driven design).
This kinda ties in with my desire to make the core website more portal driven (ie updates would happen alot faster if I didn't have to write html and upload a whole page - I want a web-driven interface that anybody can use without technical knowledge - again, I'm playing around with a joomla design on my spare server at home.)
In the meantime, I'm thinking of just writing a quick asp-based interface for entering who bred what when, with a MS sql server backend.
I could host the server at home and just give the address out to the BAP chairperson for data entry.
We've already got a volunteer to be the BAP chairperson - I just need to give him a valid method of keeping track of the info.
Oh - and I think we may want to go over the fish lists and make sure the points make sense - fish that were hard to breed 5 years ago could be easy today (and there are alot of fish being bred in the club right now that were unknown 5 years ago).
Would you like to donate some programing time ?
How's your sql ? Any experience with ASP or ASP.NET security ?
yep, that was a long winded way of saying "I'm working on it."
