Any idea how I should treat this guy?
His fins and body look good. Looks like he just has a swollen cloudy eye.. maybe from someone else being aggressive or he banged it on something.. I don't think it's popeye.

I showed the right side so you can see that his fins and body look fine. It's just the left eye.

Melafix and Pimafix combo?
Maracyn?

Any idea's? Right now I have him quarantined to a 20Gal so I can destress and treat..

Thanks,
Jay

Hey Jay,
Is he eating ok ?
If so, I'd go with a medicated food (or foods) -- I'm a big fan of getting the antibiotics "into" the fish.

(to paraphrase what Jim Carmark once told us at a meeting - "my doctor doesn't pour the medication over my head, he gives me pills")

One way to do that is premade pellets - such as the Jungle Labs ones.

Another would be some of the "pond" sinking sticks that Kensfish sells with oxytetracycline (I keep some of this at home for emergencies, since oxytet. is "broad spectrum" (treats both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria)).

Or if the fish prefers flake, the anti-biotic flake from Angels Plus ( http://angelsplus.com/FlakeMedicated.htm )

Alternatively, I'd try a broad spectrum anti-biotic that is allegedly "absorbed by the fish" such as Kanaplex (kanamycin) from Seachem.

But I'd lean towards the foods, myself.

Thanks for the advice. He hasn't been eating, but I think that's because of the transition to the QT tank. If he starts to get his appetite back I will try the food trick.
