January 2024 Monthly Meeting

Our next monthly meeting will be Monday, January 15, 2024, which is the MLK holiday.

BAS will be having our very own Jackie Anderson as a speaker. She is the person that maintains the large fish and mammal tanks on the night shift at the New England Aquarium.

Her presentation will be on: “Thinking Big: Big System Filtration”

We are all generally familiar with filtration for our home aquariums, but how does the filtration system work on much larger systems? In this talk Jackie will discuss the inner workings of some large commercial systems, past and present.

Traffic should be light, and the parking meters are free with no time limit on this day as it is a holiday. We will be having our regular 50/50 auction after the talk.

Attendees may begin arriving at 7:30PM. BAS Secretary Donna will greet you at the door. Our meeting location is INSIDE the New England Aquarium in the Harbor View Cafe on the mezzanine level. The mezzanine is accessible by elevator for those who need it for mobility purposes.

If you are driving, street meters are free with no time limit on this day as it is a holiday. Paid parking is available onsite nearby in the Boston Harbor Garage. If you are taking the MBTA, take the Blue line to Aquarium Traffic should be light.

Please feel free to bring in refreshments to share.
