March Meeting - The Fish of Lake Tanganyika
Our March 16th speaker is Peter George. Peter’s program will focus on the fish of Lake Tanganyika, but will also touch on the geology of East Africa, the arrival of cichlids in the Lake, and how, over millions of years, we’ve arrived at this fantastic and extraordinarily diverse and vibrant population of endemic cichlids.
Peter is a CARES Speaker, the East Africa Lagoon Species Regional Coordinator, Lake Victoria Regional Co-Coordinator, the American Cichlid Association CARES Coordinator, the founder of the CARES Single Species Maintenance Project and a CARES Team Specialist. Additionally, Peter has been active in the New England Cichlid Association, serving as President for several years, and served as the Convention Chair for the ACA-NECA Convention held in Connecticut in 2019.
