May 2024 Monthly Meeting

Please Read: Our scheduled speaker Rick Burt can not make it for tonight's meeting. We will still have a meeting. The board will host a round table discussion. Part of the discussion will be about outdoor "pond" plants. Our own Bryan Nelson will bring some plants. We will have a slide show with various topics. Also, there will be 5-6 door prizes for anyone in attendance (members and non-members). Also we will have a regular 50/50 auction with one exception, sellers keep 100% of their highest sold lot! The remaining lots will be a 50/50 split.

Our next monthly meeting will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024. BAS will be having Rick Burt of the Rhode Island Club as a speaker.  His talk will be on Lotus plants and other container plants of the summer. Rick has been a member of the RI club for about 40 years and had his first aquarium at age 10. Currently he is the vice president of TFSRI. The talk will include growing lotus,water lilies, and other water plants in containers. There will be videos and lots of photos of the amazing world of water plants. There will be some discussion on keeping fish in these containers as well.

Please feel free to bring in refreshments to share.

Our new location is now INSIDE the New England Aquarium.  If you are driving, street meters are free after 8PM.   Also, there is plenty of street parking especially along India Street (set your GPS for 35 India Street) you will find empty meters.  Paid parking is available nearby in the Boston Harbor Garage. If you are taking the MBTA, take the Blue line to Aquarium.
