November 2024 Monthly Meeting

Our November monthly meeting will be held on Monday, November 18 at 7:30PM. For this month only, we will be meeting in the Simons IMAX Theatre, the building immediately to the right of the NEAQ.

Our program this month will be a panel discussion on techniques for raising fry in a home fish room:

• Chad Fox will be speaking on his strategy for fry hatching, and how he has evolved his strategy and the tools he has built to maximize yield.
• Chuck Fittz will be speaking about hatching brine shrimp: and how to take care of pests like hydra and planaria that can develop when brine shrimp are fed heavily
• James Curtin will be demonstrating easy DIY projects including fry trays for improving growth rates and PVC water changers. We will also have supplies for anyone who would like to make breeding mops for egg scatterers.

We would like to encourage other members to join the conversation and present short lightning talks! If you have an active breeding project you would like to speak about during the meeting, please email James at [email protected]

After the talk, we will have our usual monthly auction, with a 50/50 split.

As a reminder, there is always plenty of street parking in the area especially along India Street (set your GPS for 35 India Street) you will find empty meters, which are free starting at 8PM. Paid parking is available nearby in the Boston Harbor Garage. If you are taking the MBTA, take the Blue line to Aquarium.
